Who we are: Detroit Recovery Project (DRP) is a private non-profit corporation dedicated to supporting recovery which strengthens, rebuilds, and empowers individuals, families, and communities who are experiencing co-occurring mental illness, and substance use disorders. This is accomplished by ensuring access to integrated networks of effective and culturally competent holistic health services.
What we do: We empower underserved populations and individuals affected by substance abuse addiction through innovative behavioral health and physical wellness.
Summary: A successful candidate will address youth needs in regard to accessing recovery, as the individual identifies it. The Recovery Coach will support the youth in setting and achieving SMART goals, and staying engaged in services. The Youth Recovery Coach will be expected to work at both DRP locations as well as at other external locations that may involve short commutes.
What will you do? Establish a rapport and working relationship with external organizations servicing youth
Complete intake screening and consent to services within the EHR system
Provide “hands-on” support to patients suffering from SUD
Provide a direct link to services identified by the participant
Run groups for participants to develop skills and social support
Assist participants in building resumes and job-seeking skills
Document all services provided to participants within EHR
What do we expect: - The Youth Recovery Center Coach should have at least one year's related experience working with individuals with substance abuse and/or mental health disorder.
- Strong organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of community resources such as housing, medical, and other needed support services specifically related to the population served.
- Group Facilitation experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with the 12-step model and Substance Abuse Provider Network is preferred.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Driving record must be sufficient to meet safe driving standards as established by the Agency insurance carrier and must have a valid Michigan driver's license
- As applicable, all state licensures, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Licensing, and Michigan Certifications Board of Professionals (MCBAP) certification requirements must be met. (CPRC, and/or CPRM)
