POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Develops, organizes, and implements high quality YMCA childcare programs.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in human development, education, psychology or a closely related field is required.
At least two years of experience in the education, non-profit, and/or community agency industries, preferably supervising people, is required.
Completion of all YMCA-required training including CPR with AED and First Aid.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Increase and retain youth and family engagement across all YMCA programs, services, and locations.
Increase visibility and elevate the standing of the YMCA in the communities served through the development and expansion of quality youth and family programs and services, in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Elevate the YMCA Member Experience through the incorporation of quality youth and family programs and services into existing YMCA programs and services.
Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, internally and externally.
Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs. Maintain proper records/department files.
Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and the community, inside and outside the YMCA; participate in leadership and/or other committees inside and outside the YMCA.
Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed.
Effectively utilize common office technology, including hardware, software, and web-based applications.
Monitors upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC DUTIES

Programs may include, but are not limited to: Achievers, Camp CIT, Changemakers, Jr. Managers, Leaders, Youth in Government, and Youth Voice. Family Programs may include but are not limited to: Parents’ Morning/Night Out, Healthy Kids Day, New World’s Reading Initiative, and monthly events. Applying culturally responsive techniques, and with the needs of the community in mind, the Youth and Family Engagement Director may:
Direct and supervise existing program(s); design and implement new programs, activities, and events.
Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct personnel and volunteers as needed to maintain program quality; review and evaluate staff performance; develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
Grow existing and develop new strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and/or fund-raising campaigns to support program goals and objectives.
Secure facilities; coordinate transportation.
Family gym membership included with this position.
