POSITION SUMMARY The Veterinary Team Lead position is a supervisory position enlisted to provide a variety of analytical, evaluative, advisory, and technical functions in support of driving revenue to Maricamp Animal Hospital through the development and optimization of processes. Additionally, this role is intended to train, lead, and manage the team members in the medical department to achieve optimal performance success within their roles at Maricamp Hospital.

OBJECTIVES Operational Effectiveness (50%)
- Gather records, analyze data, and identify trends to report on the performance of the practice to Leadership.
- Expertly create, implement, and streamline initiatives that aim to optimize performance and increase revenue through the development and optimization of processes and procedures.
- Coordinate and control programs and resources in conjunction with Leadership to achieve a balance between the administrative and clinics medical functions within the veterinary health care delivery system of the practice.
- Direct and optimize the daily operations of the practice thereby allowing the practitioners the time necessary to carry out their profession. In conjunction with leadership, assist in the monitoring of the clinic's financial performance, including budget development and adherence, collections, financial analysis, and revenue cycle management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws. This includes but is not limited to OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, and the Department of Labor. Develop and maintain procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
Team Management (50%)
- Supervise and assist the medical team in their performance of a variety of technical, hands-on skills and client education as outlined in the Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician job descriptions to facilitate the work of the practitioners
- Work in conjunction with Leaders to oversee the continued education and training of medical staff while evaluating progress and performance to ensure the team members success and alignment within the company.
- Monitor and report on the medical teams progress of metrics to Leadership, ensuring each position is keeping and reaching daily, weekly & monthly targets and goals.
- Quality control to ensure the medical teams accountability to their job duties and adherence to policies and procedures through report analysis, performance reviews, and communicative feedback.
COMPETENCIES - Understands the ethical requirements of the veterinary practice, as outlined in the AVMA and CVPM code of ethics, and ensures that professional and support staff fulfill their ethical responsibilities.
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures outlined in the employee manuals as well as those that are implied (reasonable expectations).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to navigate relationships with clients and, co-workers, and patients
- Must be detail-oriented and highly attuned to capturing relevant data in documentation and reports.
- Requires ability in problem-solving - decisions involving veterinary expertise will be reserved for the practitioners.
- Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation to follow through on all responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Strong computer skills and highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Windows, and Google Suite with experience using EMR software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and motivation skills.
- Ability to direct, guide, and assist a group of individuals including effectively solving problems dealing with staff conflict to personnel issues and performance.
- Proven Ability to maintain professionalism through implementing mission, vision, and core values and ensuring the teams compliance to the same standard.
- Monitoring/Assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals, or the practice to make improvements or take corrective action.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 3 years of veterinary industry experience (required)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role (required), veterinary industry preferred, with a proven track record of successfully leading/managing a team
- Knowledge of veterinary medicine and customer service best practices
- Bilingual English & Spanish is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
- Travel Required: Up to 15% for Continuing Education & Training

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 hours per week

Schedule: - Rotating Day shift, 40 hours per week to be scheduled during business hours
- Business Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday, 8am-1pm.
- Overtime Available
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Ocala, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
