Summary of Position

The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for oversight and management of projects that involve the design, development and deployment of technical systems and business initiatives. Projects require collaboration between various internal business units in the creation, quality assurance and delivery of FAIR Health data products and internal projects. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the main point of contact to internal personnel and will play a key role in managing scope, time frame, deliverables and cost. This individual will also maintain a continuous and accurate record of project activities, assess risks and their potential impact on projects and report upon progress relative to timetables and budgets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, overall performance and delivery of projects.
  • Manage initiatives from the requirements definition, through technical development, deployment and post-deployment monitoring, including project planning, tasking, resource allocation and balancing, and status reporting.
  • Manage project scope plan, budget, structure, schedule, deliverables and staffing requirements.
  • Accurately set expectations around project progress and ensure projects meet established timeline goals.
  • Ensure proactive assessment of tasks and open items, including seeking assignment of tasks to personnel and bringing personnel together to resolve open issues or undefined requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional risk discussions, develop and maintain risk registry, and develop/monitor actionable mitigation and contingency plans across managed projects.
  • Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile ).
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen, collaboration and communication skills (required).
  • Provide direction/guidance to the project team and external vendors.
  • Multitask and manage several projects at once.
  • Maintain a continuous, accurate record of all operations performed by project personnel, both internal and external.
  • Evaluate projects after completion and document lessons learned.
  • Help support and evolve the existing program management office (PMO).
  • Guide business process development and continuous process improvement.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 10+ years project management experience with a minimum of 5+ years experience in healthcare and/or insurance big data projects.
  • Bachelors degree required; MBA or technical background a plus.
  • Project management experience in managing IT systems development and implementation.
  • Experience managing projects involving SAS and Oracle data warehousing environments, and complex environments.
  • Experience with healthcare informatics, particularly medical claims data and technology solutions in the healthcare industry or related domains.
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of standard software development lifecycle processes.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to tailor communications to various target audiences.
  • Expertise with office and project management productivity tools.
  • Experience managing projects using software-based solutions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.

Our office is based in New York City, but we are currently hybrid/remote and open to candidates looking for hybrid and/or fully remote work.

Salary is commensurate with experience in the range of $116,00$152,000.
