About the Role
The Sales Director for Books/Education is a pivotal role focused on driving the growth of transformative publishing solutions for various educational sectors. This includes PreK-12, ESL, Higher Ed, University Press, Professional, STM, and more. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven sales professional with a passion for developing and delivering innovative solutions that align with the evolving needs of educational organizations. Responsibilities for this fully remote position include implementing sales strategies, identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and collaborating with product development and marketing teams to ensure the competitiveness of the solutions. The role also involves providing regular sales performance reports, staying abreast of industry trends, and actively participating in the sales process from start to finish, including client meetings, pitches, and RFPs. Basic qualifications for the Sales Director position include a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the books/education publishing market, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a results-oriented approach, and the ability to think strategically in a fast-paced environment. A comprehensive understanding of the product development life cycle, the ability to manage time effectively, and work independently are also essential. An advanced degree is a plus. The Sales Director will be expected to meet targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives, and to continuously share insights and knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
