Job Description

The Reconciliation Analyst II is responsible for the execution and oversight of investor custodial and servicing clearing bank reconciliations. Supports internal initiatives, improved efficiency, and controls and assists the Investor Reporting department in problem solving reconciling items in out of balance accounts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily and monthly custodial account reconciliations within defined timeframes
  • Identify reconciling items and work with Investor Reporting team for resolution and escalate items when resolution does not occur within the specified time frame
  • Prepare daily general ledger and custodial bank entries and prepare wire requests
  • Assist in month-end functions
  • Support management in the identification of reporting trends and analyze key deficiencies
  • Research, resolve, and document variances
  • Monitor P&I custodial accounts to ensure no overdrafts occur
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects to Investor, Regulatory, and Company policies and procedures
  • Escalate to management any deficiencies, problems, or concerns that might be a potential risk
  • Various duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Investor Reporting, remitting, and reconciliation
  • Account reconciliations and/or financial controls experience strongly preferred
  • Hands on experience with most major areas of mortgage servicing including bank reconciliation and loan research
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial risk
  • Knowledge of relevant state, regulatory, and investor guidelines preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment
  • Prioritize work and effectively manage time
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical and sound judgment skills
  • Proficiency with alphanumeric and high volume data entry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
