Summary:

The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join us as we expand clinical operations to provide our patients with exceptional care in PPT (Pre-Procedural Testing).In this role, the PA/NP will work alongside experienced physician and APP (Advanced Practice Provider) colleagues performing physical exams and documenting anesthesia assessments in preparation for the patient’s surgical or other invasive procedure. This is a full-time position in which the PA/NP works 4 flexible days per week. There are no weekends, nights, call, or major holiday coverage associated with this position.

Responsibilities:

• Performing medical evaluations and documenting anesthesia assessments
• Coordinating patient preparation for surgical and other invasive procedures that require anesthesia
• Delivering direct patient care in conjunction with members of anesthesia
• Working as part of a collaborative team at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY and HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and possess or be eligible to obtain a New York State applicable license.
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year of applicable experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in anesthesiology or perioperative care will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
