Description The Library Services Assistant is responsible for providing support to the library's professional staff, students, faculty, public patrons and other RCC staff.
Detailed Work Activities Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing all aspects of patron services at the Circulation Desk, including answering the phone;
- Providing quality customer service and technical support for computers, printers, and laptops;
- Acknowledging students and faculty as they enter/depart the library;
- Assisting library patrons with all of their research needs;
- Providing technical support in the library for computers, printers, and laptops;
- Answering general location and directional questions;
- Checking the mailroom and book drops daily;
- Checking in, maintaining, and archiving print journals and magazines;
- Cleaning laptops, work stations and keyboards;
- Assisting with the reservation of the library's study rooms;
- Creating book exhibits for the library's display cases;
- Making College I.D. cards (and fulfilling online requests);
- Collecting monies, preparing fee sheets and forwarding monies to the Business Office;
- Training work study students and library volunteers;
- Assisting with the loaner laptop program (ensuring units are operational in coordination with IT);
- Processing library materials, including checking them in, laminating, cataloging, and shelving;
- Shifting the print collection, as needed;
- Assisting with the inventory of the print collection;
- Assisting with the RCC Archives (print and digital);
- Completing special projects; and
- Performing other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications : A minimum of an Associate Degree in Office System Technology, Information Systems Technology, Business Administration or the equivalent from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience Minimum of two (2) years' work experience in an executive secretarial/office systems/business related position
Other Have an acceptable Financial and Criminal Background check.
