If so, keep reading: We are looking for a
Millwork Cabinet Maker who will fabricate and install a variety of millwork materials from start to finish with precision and thoroughness, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule and within budget.
To be successful in this role: YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE for quality craftsmanship. You are an experienced cabinet maker with quality work to prove it. You can work autonomously with a high degree of follow-through to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
YOU HAVE EXCELLENT ORGANIZATION AND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS to effectively manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities while being respectful of co-worker's space and surroundings.
YOU ARE DETAIL-ORIENTED with the ability to read plans, measure materials accurately, and successfully assemble materials. You ensure the proper installation of materials while keeping the workspace clean and organized.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: In the first 30 days and ongoing: - Complete onboarding program in the first week which includes basic safety training, equipment training certification, and if not completed, OSHA training
- Already know the basics of how to measure, cut, drill, nail and assemble materials to job specifications; display refined cabinetry and finish carpentry skills indicative of many years of on-the-job experience
- Exhibit proficiency in cabinet milling, assembly, hardware, and installation of the final product
By the 90-day mark and ongoing: - Efficiently install materials while following appropriate and safe procedures
- Ensure quality of craftsmanship conforms to original plans and specs
- Demonstrate general safety knowledge, wearing proper safety equipment, using tools safely and remains accident-free
Within the 6th to 12th month mark and ongoing: - Exhibit willingness to jump into new projects when assigned.
- Communicate with Shop Foreman throughout the day to stay updated on critical steps to move the project forward
- Show integrity, compassion, and empathy when dealing with co-workers that embodies the culture at The Mill Shop, Inc.
- Display pride in work and craftsmanship and encourages the same work ethic in others
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: - 5+ years' cabinet making experience required
- Able to read blueprints and knowledgeable in cabinet assembly, hardware, installation, and layout.
- Can perform general physical tasks common to a cabinet making position (lifting up to 50 pounds for extended periods, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motion, use of hand tools, etc.)
- Proficient in math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplication and division, calculating square footage of materials
- Proficient with carpentry hand tools and machinery. CNC Router experience a plus
- Experience working with plastic laminates and veneers required.
- Experience working with Solid Surface a plus
- Demonstrated past of working safely and adhering to safety standards
- Proven experience working well independently and with teams
- Can consistently communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers, vendors, and customers, and is fluent in both speaking and comprehending English
