Job Description

About the role:

In this role you'll play a critical role in developing and executing several HR activities with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition and onboarding. You will also be engaged in the areas of employee relations, compliance, performance management, worker's compensation, employee engagement, training, unemployment, and the administration of various compensation and benefits programs.
  • Lead the recruitment and hiring process for assigned openings from the initial stage of job requisition through the hire, including updating job descriptions, sourcing, and posting strategies (including passive searches), screening and interview coordination, job offers, drug, backgrounds, and reference checks.
  • Oversee the employee referral program.
  • Ensure all hires represent the best available talent and are aligned with VBC values.
  • Assist the Senior HR Business Partner to ensure an effective onboarding process
  • Partner with business leaders and SrHRBP on HR initiatives and projects to drive business performance.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to employees on a variety of HR topics and promotes positive employee relations.
  • Implement and execute employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Work with HRIS (ADP) and Payroll and ensures employee payroll and other data is timely and accurate.
  • Manage and process Workers' Compensation, Unemployment claims and leaves of absences in accordance with State and local laws.
  • Assist with the local execution of various processes including performance-merit reviews and benefit open enrollments.
  • Work with clients' managers to resolve performance management issues, providing guidance, coaching, and tracking where needed.
  • Assist the Senior HR Business Partner with other HR projects and events.

Qualifications

About you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of Generalist experience (preferably in the construction, engineering, or manufacturing industry)
  • Strong talent acquisition experience and current knowledge of strategic and creative sourcing techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of ADP workforce Now is highly preferred.
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong networking, social media, and internet skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize efforts based on business needs
  • Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
