We are seeking a full-time Health and Safety Manager to join our team! Our Health and Safety Manager will work closely with the Corporate Health and Safety and Operations staff to ensure compliance with safety standards and continue to foster a culture of safety within the company.

Location: Successful candidate will report to one of the following locations: Albany (Clifton Park), Syracuse, Utica or Watertown, New York

Health and Safety Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Health & Safety or related field and 5 years’ experience; OR 10 years’ health & safety experience in construction or related industry.
  • Professional certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Safety Management Specialist (SMS) is desirable.
  • Ability to periodically travel throughout New York State.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction, 30-Hour General Industry, and 40-Hour HAZWOPER certifications are desirable.

Health and Safety Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage Health & Safety staff and workflow to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage the review and audit process of facilities and operations to maintain compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Review incident reports, lead incident investigations and interviews, and complete investigation reports to include root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.
  • Create, review, and/or update JSAs, policies, SOPs, guidance documents, work instructions, and bulletins.
  • Manage external safety subscriptions (ISNet, Avetta, and Highwire) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee completion of Health & Safety Plans (HASPs) and client pre-qualifications to ensure timely submission that meets client and project requirements.
  • Administer New Employee Orientation for all newly hired employees.
