**Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Support Specialist**

**Job Purpose and Impact**
The Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Support Specialist will interpret regulations and business specific quality requirements as they apply to suppliers, ingredients, products, and other operational processes, practices and procedures in their region and markets. We seek a professional who will investigate and resolve compliance problems, questions or complaints received from other units of the company, customers, government regulatory agencies, etc. In this role, you will assess the risks and opportunities related to regulations applicable to suppliers, ingredients, and feed, and influence and effect pertinent changes within the business unit or country.
**Key Accountabilities**
* Ensure business activities comply with regulations and laws and other quality and food safety requirements, and where required, working with regulatory agencies to provide guidance and advice.
* Examine current regulations and assess and prioritize emerging trends in food/feed safety and quality to identify the current and potential medium-term risks and impacts.
* Provide thought leadership in regulatory and scientific affairs area in the region including short- and medium-term emerging issues.
* Lead and execute on internal and external audit plans establishing compliance with regulations, industry standards and Cargill requirements and lead the team on corrective actions execution / follow up.
* Conduct routine verification (audits and risk assessments) of regulatory, quality status and certification of suppliers of ingredients and services having an impact on food safety
* Measure and monitor quality performance of suppliers
* Ensure due diligence records are established for suppliers used, and raw materials purchased by Cargill, and routinely ensure that materials specifications comply with Cargill and customer food safety, quality and regulatory requirements, and any other business-to-business standards or requirements as appropriate.
* Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
* Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Intermediate knowledge of food laws and regulations.
* Experienced in continuous improvement of regulatory processes.
* Experienced in project management.
* Proven related work experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills,
* Fluency in English and Norwegian language and able to present in an articulate manner.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Master's degree in Food Science, food/feed industry, chemistry, or related field
* Advanced knowledge of food and feed laws and regulations in the EU, EEA, and UK.
* Advanced oral and written communication skills
* ISO Lead Auditor qualified would be useful or equivalent recognized auditor qualification.
* Formal training in application of HACCP principles in a food business environment
* Confirmed related work experience.
