The Events Management Manager is responsible for coordinating logistics of meetings and events that take place in the firm's in-house conference facility. They also oversee the conference center planners responsible for providing meeting planning services. This role will ensure global standards are maintained along with the highest level of service excellence and operational effectiveness. They will work closely with colleagues in Technology as well as Regional Management to create an outstanding experience for every day users. They are also responsible for reporting, maximizing utilization, escalations, last minute space requests and working on special projects within a global and regional effort.Job responsibilities: Manage in-house conference center planning team across region Handle day to day challenges team presents and assist driving towards a solution Ensure standard operating procedures are being followed to maintain a high level of customer service Distribute meeting & events according to skill level to conference center team Interact with various levels of senior management and LOB representatives to deliver outstanding service and a first class experience Maintain relationship with in-house caterer, technology team and operations Review management of meeting space in order to maximize utilization Participate in daily operations meeting as well as weekly review Execute pre and post conference call when applicable, capturing details in EMS Cover reception desk essential functions; answering telephone calls, returning emails promptly Work on projects related to enhancing the Conference/Client Centers locations, planners and overall client experience Manage mid-year and annual performance review of staff Determine training and development points for team Controls - risk and compliance knowledge and adherenceRequired Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities: Six plus years' experience in the hospitality industry managing guests experiences Understand the meeting planning process and management of the customer experience Experience in managing a local and remote team Highly organized, with ability to handle multiple tasks and apply judgment to prioritize Knowledge of food and beverage and catering services Working knowledge of audio visual Decision maker who can work in a fast paced diverse environment Experience in business process and procedures Analytical and budget planning experience Strategic and risk planning Computer skills, MS Office (excel, word, ppt), Event Management System (EMS) a plus
