Job Summary The eSports Lounge workers work in and maintain the eSports Lounge in the University Center. Due to the expensive equipment in the Lounge, the Lounge Workers must remain in the room at all times that the room is open. They sit by the door and check people in to their reservations, and check them out as they leave. They check out various equipment for the PCs and Consoles, such as controllers or headsets. They provide tech support issues when problems arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - They must watch the entrance to make sure everyone checks in as they come in.
- They guard the expensive inventory in the room.
- They have access to the scheduling system to make sure no one goes to the wrong PC or Console station.
- They provide minor tech support if needed, or can call IT for any major issues.
- They keep the eSports Lounge clean and presentable.
- They enforce the rules of the eSports Lounge, including the no food/drink policy and keeping people from being too loud.
- They talk students through how to schedule a timeslot on the Senet system
Other Duties and Responsibilities - May need to assist in other Student Center and Event Services operations.
Minimum Requirements - eSports Lounge workers must have a general knowledge of video games or technology.
- They must be able to pay attention to those coming and leaving the eSports Lounge, but also those in the Lounge.
- They must have a general knowledge of Gaming PC technology to assist in tech support if needed, and to be able to answer any questions from the students.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Physical Requirements Working Conditions - On-going individual tasks are often interrupted with inquiries from faculty, staff, and students. Employee must be able to multi-task.
- Maintain appropriate tools, inventories and work space to insure effective operation
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- eSports Lounge workers, along with other student workers in Event Services, may be the only staff in the University Center on nights and weekends and should communicate with MSU Police for emergencies.
