This position will be located at Rombauer Vineyards.
As the Site EHS Specialist, develops and maintains a safe and environmentally compliant work environment by identifying local organizational EHS needs. Applies developed EHS specialist skills and knowledge to monitor and maintain applicable EHS programs and procedures.
What You'll Do:
• Works under general direction of local EHS Manager or senior operations management with personal responsibility for own outputs.
• Understands when issues should be promptly escalated to a higher level within the organization.
• Performs a range of work that is sometimes technical regarding interpretation of regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrates understanding of fundamental EHS concepts and basic EHS technical knowledge.
• Participates in assessments and audits of facilities and programs for compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements.
• Monitors and maintains site-specific procedures that support environmental, health and safety compliance.
• Develops skills and knowledge in environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements for integration into their respective job duties.
• Monitors and maintains environmental, health and safety programs for tracking of critical audits, permits and associated EHS activities.
• Provides data for performance measurement reports (metrics scorecards) and may generate timely reports to all levels of management.
• Participates in root cause analysis and monitors status of corrective actions on significant environmental or health and safety-related incidents.
• Maintains OSHA 300 Log per regulatory requirements and submits injury data monthly to the Corporate EHS Department.
• Collects, evaluates, and disseminates information relating to environmental, health and safety management and maintains reference files.
• Collaborates with internal and cross-functional partners.\
• Supports and implements fundamental team member training and education programs related to environmental, health and safety compliance and incident prevention.
• Participates in the Management of Change review process and Pre-Start Safety Reviews.
• Maintains SDS documents and hazardous material inventories.
• Performs site inspections of contractor construction activities and coordinates with Company project manager for correction of any noted discrepancies.
• Participates in programs and procedures necessary to obtain or maintain third party certifications (ISO, VPP, PSM, other).
• Performs fundamental environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring as directed by the EHS Manager or specialists in these fields.
What You Will Need:
• Bachelor of Science degree plus 2 years of EHS experience, OMDP experience or comparable military experience or High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience.
• Skilled in developing clear written communications, procedures, and work instructions. Ability to present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
• Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
• Ability to source, read and understand, EHS regulations as published by government agencies and applicable to site functions.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart:
• Bachelor of Science EHS (Accredited EHS program) and/or possession of EHS related certifications (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Certified Hazardous Materials Manger (CHMM).
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation:
• Hiring Salary Range Posted: $84,800 - $127,200
• Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
