Bindery Operator

Day Shift, 6am -6pm Rotating Shift

Night Shift, 6pm-6am Rotating Shift

Position Summary:

The Bindery Operator performs manual and machine operator tasks related to the operation of paper cutter and folder machines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Operates Polar, Inpro and Perfecta paper cutter equipment ranging from 40 - 141"

· Takes cutting orders and sets up cutter in accordance with instructions

· Sets automatic cutting programs into machines

· Operates paper cutter to cut and trim blank stock and printed material that is to be further processed in the Pressroom or Bindery.

· Performs preventative maintenance on paper cutting machinery such as blade replacement, lubrication, and waxing.

· Uses lift truck to carry pallets with blank stock and printed paper from loading area to Press area, and from Press area to Bindery

· Cleans up and keeps work area neat and orderly

· Works overtime as needed

· Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, particularly in operating Flexo press
- Proficiency in screen printing, prepress, color management, and graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to operate a forklift and perform quality control checks
- Knowledge of machining, typography, layout design, print advertising, and CNC processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish colors.

· Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

· Manual dexterity for repetitive work.

· Frequent walking and standing.
