Job Description
The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University, Irvine, CA, invites applications for a full-time faculty member as Professor of Psychology(at appropriate rank) beginning July 2025. The individual should demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship in the discipline of psychology or related fields. The faculty member will teach courses that serve the department and possibly Concordia's Enduring Questions and Ideas Curriculum (EQ&I), as well as filling roles in advising, mentoring, assessment, program recruitment, and university service. Concordia seeks an individual who values the Lutheran liberal arts tradition and who will promote the mission, purpose, and objectives of the university. Rank and salary will be determined by credentials and experience.
Qualifications: A broad-based, doctoral degree (PhD preferred) in psychology with experience in teaching and research is desired, but a MA/MS in psychology is acceptable with proper professional experience. Members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod are desired but any member of a Christian congregation which confesses the historic creeds of the Christian Church are encouraged to apply.
Appointment: The position is a full-time position in Psychology that will require being on the Irvine Turtle Rock campus and comes with full rights as a full-time faculty member. The faculty will be expected to teach courses in the department including general education and majors. They will be expected to participate in events related to the major and department, as well as other programs on campus, including convocations and requirements of full-time faculty with respect to service to the Institution, the Academy, as well as to the church and community. and continued academic scholarship.
